Confluence Water Pty Ltd (Confluence Water), Ventia, Downer and Jacobs joint venture, is one of three consortia delivering services under Sydney Water's Partnering for Success program. Confluence Water delivers design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services in Sydney Water's North region, which stretches from Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River and includes the Hills Shire.

Due to a planned expansion into the capital works phase of the program we have an exciting opportunity for a new Environmental Advisor to join our high performing and progressive Environment and Sustainability Team. The primary role of the Environment and Sustainability Team is supporting our construction and maintenance team across the northern region of Sydney by providing advice and technical expertise in all areas of environmental management.

Our projects are varied and do involve high environmental risk profile projects - for example construction work within National Parks. You will gain experience on all environmental aspects including acid sulphate soils management, groundwater dewatering and licensing, contamination management, Aboriginal Heritage and Non-Aboriginal heritage management.

Our Environmental and Sustainability Team has quickly formed a strong culture of respect and inclusiveness, fostering a proudly diverse, fun and supportive workplace. Our head office is located in Chatswood next to the public transport interchange with satellite and projects offices all over the northern region. With a team of six strong Environmental Advisors and over twenty specialist environmental advisors (ecologist, hydrogeologists, contamination etc) our team is certainly one to give you great support and a platform to grow your career. ABOUT YOU

  • Relevant Tertiary degree (preference for post graduate qualifications) in the fields of Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Environmental Management. At least two years' environmental management experience, with extensive experience in the preparation and implementation of environmental management systems and plans.
  • Experience in the water/wastewater industry is advantageous.
  • A good understanding of relevant NSW State and Commonwealth legislation relating to environmental planning and approvals, environmental licensing and/or site environmental management.
  • Day-to-day management of all on-site environmental aspects including field testing, site inspections, and any monitoring requirements within their designated areas.
