Overview
ECU South West is seeking a casual Receptionist pool to support the ECU Learning Centre, Busselton. These positions will support staffing the Centre after standard office hours and on weekends.

The new ECU Learning Centre, Busselton, provides regional and online ECU students with support and a physical location to learn, socialise and engage. The new Centre supports students from Busselton and surrounding catchment areas, with access to open- plan collaboration spaces, dedicated meeting rooms with conferencing facilities and a large training room. The ECU Learning Centre supports students with academic assistance, independent study spaces, access to ECU's library collection, drop-in support services, social events and the opportunity to connect with peers.

The Position
As an ECU Learning Centre, Busselton, Receptionist - Casual, you will be responsible for:

  • Creating a friendly, welcoming environment with exceptional customer service skills, supporting the needs of ECU students and visitors face-to-face, via emails and phone calls
  • Directing queries to the appropriate ECU support service if applicable, facilitating a broad understanding of ECU's systems and processes
  • Executing a high attention to detail, meticulously collating data through Qualtrics software and Microsoft Office tools, including Excel
  • Working alone and following ECU protocols to ensure the safety of yourself and others while in the Centre
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of Centre events
  • Opening and closing the Centre as shifts require
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy environment
  • Assisting students with basic print and copy operations
  • Other duties as required

Key Criteria
The successful applicants will have:

  • Relevant experience, demonstrating excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work alone and unsupervised
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills to support students and visitors in either solving or directing their query
  • Work and communicate effectively in a small team
  • Exhibit high levels of computer literacy to capture desired data using software like MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • A positive, friendly and 'can do' attitude
  • The ability to be flexible and reliable
  • The ability to work late-night and weekend shifts

Current ECU students are encouraged to apply. Preference that candidates are based in the Busselton-area.

Successful candidates may be offered hours on weekdays from 4pm-9pm and/or weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday) 8.30am-4.30pm.

Benefits & Remuneration
Pay rate of $38.74 (inclusive of casual loading) plus Superannuation.
