The Position

St John of God Subiaco Hospital is the oldest and biggest hospital in our group, having been established in 1898. With 600 beds, it is one of Australia's most respected providers of health care services and an internationally renowned leader in clinical trials and research.
SJG Subiaco Hospital is also a leader in innovation and adoption of new technologies, including the implementation of robotic surgical devices and virtual reality imaging technology. Our hospital is located in the heart of Subiaco close to stylish cafes, boutiques and with easy access to the train station

We are seeking friendly and welcoming customer service superstars to join our team as
Receptionist/Telephonist. As
Receptionist/Telephonist you will be responsible for providing a highly professional standard of reception and switchboard customer service to all hospital clientele and caregivers.

This includes answering and directing calls, greeting visitors, and providing general information about the hospital.

The Receptionist/Telephonist must also maintain accurate records of all calls and visitors, and ensure that all communication is handled in a timely and efficient manner.

Additionally, they may be responsible for scheduling appointments and managing patient files.

  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing Reception or Front Office customer service in a busy environment, including the operation of switchboards.
  • Sound computer literacy and proficiency with switchboards, paging and other security equipment in the area.
  • Welldeveloped communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal with conflict situations, provide concise advice and deal with a variety of people.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills including the ability to draft letters, memos, standard reports and other correspondence on behalf of the manager.
  • A high level of customer service skills including flexibility, tact and diplomacy.
  • Sound planning and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and to cope with competing demands.
  • Demonstrated ability in being proactive and using initiative to achieve desired results without constant supervision and direction.
