The focus of this role is to lead program and oversight project delivery, develop and deliver communications and engagement activities which support the Year of Accessible Tourism engagement with stakeholders and guidance to the broader organisation on engagement related activities.

Description
The focus of this role is to lead program and oversight project delivery, develop and deliver communications and engagement activities which support the Year of Accessible Tourism engagement with stakeholders and guidance to the broader organisation on engagement related activities by:

  • Developing and implementing a stakeholder engagement plan and activities for the Year of Accessible Tourism to effectively engage and leverage the year across all levels of government including state, local and federal as well as key industry stakeholders.
  • Connecting with relevant stakeholder groups, including groups with people with lived experience, to build codesign capacity to deliver the stakeholder engagement plan
  • Identifying opportunities for promotion and delivery of activities including forums and online events that will deepen engagement with stakeholders
  • Establishing strong and effective partnerships with service providers, peak bodies, community groups and other key stakeholders.

Profile

You will need to:
- work collaboratively across Tourism and the department's portfolio, in particular with Tourism and Events Queensland, as well as with key tourism stakeholders including the Regional Tourism Organisations, local government, tourism organisations and associations, the Queensland Tourism Industry Council and disability peak bodies and the sector.

  • Have a high level of experience in event development and delivery with a key part of the role developing the Year of Accessible Tourism's contribution to the DestinationQ industry forum to be held in Cairns in November 202 have strong engagement and communications skills to best support the department to engage with multiple stakeholders and to identify and deliver engagement material and content to support the initiative working closely with the department's communications and media team.
  • Support internal business areas to identify potential risks that may impact the department's reputation and implement media strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Build, maintain and promote effective working relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders, ensuring services are clientfocussed, highly effective, and consistent with wholeofdepartment communication strategies and messaging.
  • Have strong communication and negotiation skills and solid project management expertise.
