Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Accounts Payable Team Leader to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to lead a team of accounts payable officers, ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable department, providing training and support to team members, and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high volume environment, has excellent interpersonal skills, and is committed to fostering positive team morale and engagement.

What you'll do:

As an Accounts Payable Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in leading a team of dedicated accounts payable officers. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all invoices are processed accurately and promptly. You will manage vendor setup & maintenance processes, provide expert support to the business, supervise your team effectively, review and implement AP procedures, handle complaints professionally, and manage reconciliations for major vendor accounts. Your leadership skills will be instrumental in maintaining positive team morale and promoting an inclusive work environment.

  • Leading a team of accounts payable officers, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment
  • Ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Managing vendor set up & maintenance process and workflows
  • Providing support as required to the business as subject matter expert, including as part of system
  • Directly supervising and providing effective leadership to the team, including mentoring, coaching, and providing advice on procedures/work methods
  • Reviewing, updating and implementing AP procedures and processes to ensure they are relevant and accurate
  • Managing complaints and grievances in a timely manner
  • Managing the reconciliations for major vendor accounts
What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Accounts Payable Team Leader position brings proven experience in managing, mentoring, and developing a team. You possess excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated stakeholder management capabilities at a leadership level.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing, mentoring, and developing a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills at a leadership level
  • Experience in developing processes and implementing improvement initiatives
  • Understanding of Australian GST requirements
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office
  • Aged care industry experience preferable but not essential
  • Experience in using Microsoft Dynamics / Basware preferable but not essential
