Our Lihir operation in Mining Department is now recruiting for the position of Specialist – Surveyingfor FIFO role based at our Lihir Gold Operation (LGO).

We are now seeking expression of interest for the position of Specialist - Surveyingfor a FIFO position based at our Lihir Gold Operation (LGO).

Reporting to the Superintendent - Surveying , you are required to undertake supervision, mentoring and training of all surveying activities on a day-to-day basis associated with Construction and Engineering and Mining Departments Survey functions.


The role will have responsibility to:
Drives and influence proactive safety behaviours within workgroups through visible leadership.
Preparation of plans, maps, charts and drawings to give pictorial representations and managing associated information systems.
Prioritizing of all survey tasks to achieve goals within the Daily and Weekly schedule Plans.
Carry out Quarterly Bathymetry surveys.
To ensure Structural Monitoring is conducted per schedule.
Provide update End of Month Back charges and survey request schedule.
Ensure the Construction phase areas of responsibility is professionally executed consistently and in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures.
Ideally, our preferred applicant will have;
A tertiary qualification (Degree) in Surveying is essential.
Re PL for Drones/UAS – CASA Certified is desirable.
PNG National Driver's License Class 6 essential.
Trade qualification in the area of Surveyor is highly regarded for Project Delivery.
Minimum of 5 + years' experience in surveyor relevant to the area of work.
Previous supervisory experience.
Sound planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English.
Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
Read and understanding of maps, concepts and engineering designed drawings is essential.
Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
The Requirements
Must be available for FIFO to Lihir
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
Must have proof of a completed Police Clearance within the last six months.
