Land Use Victoria (LUV) is responsible for maintaining Victoria's digital cadastre and survey control network.

The digital cadastre is the state's digital record of cadastral surveying measurement and administrative information pertaining to Crown and freehold parcels in Victoria.

Using automated, data-driven adjustment and validation of cadastral data sourced from ePlans submitted through SPEAR, the digital cadastre is used to calculate the 'best-fit' location and spatial quality of land parcels on Vicmap Property (the official cadastral map in Victoria).

This purpose of this position is to contribute to the maintenance of this digital data infrastructure.

To this end, the position will provide specialised technical support to ensure Victoria's digital cadastre and survey control network datasets are maintained at the highest possible standard.

As part of a small and highly specialised team, the position will work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimum levels of spatial accuracy and quality are achieved according to ongoing land development and subdivision activity.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
Mandatory

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mathematics or Geomatics or equivalent (e.g. surveying, spatial science, geospatial science)
Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience in least squares adjustment and analysis.
  • Demonstrable skills in leveraging information technology to create efficiency and maximise quality in performing complex computations, data manipulation, analysis, evaluation, and database querying.
This is a fixed term position available for a period of 24 months. The work location for this position is 2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne 3000.
