UX Research and Service Design Consultants

We are looking for talented Consultants with a background in User Experience to join our Business Transformation team and support the expansion of our Human Centred Design capabilities.

This role is an opportunity to join a team of experienced HCD professionals, and either grow your UX career or use your valuable transferrable skills to move into UX gaining practical experience supporting and learning from an inclusive team.

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about improving service delivery, experiences and outcomes for citizens, government, and its employees.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducting user research activities with other team members to engage end-users and key stakeholders at all levels in a client organisation to gather insights and data.
  • Applying human-centred design principles, service design and delivery process and the double diamond methodology to solve problems for clients.
  • Working closely with colleagues across our organisation in digital, creative, and project delivery capabilities on multi-disciplinary engagements and in an agile project environment, taking a one-team approach to delivery.
  • Contributing positively to the growth and expansion of the HCD practice including supporting proposal and practice development initiatives.

Knowledge
We're looking for candidates who either:

  • Can demonstrate 2+ years' experience in UX Research, HCD and/or service design experience in a dedicated UX role (client side, or professional services environment).
  • Have experience in a related field such as psychology, ICT, project coordination or creative design and are looking to transition into a UX Research or Service Design career.

And can demonstrate two or more of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, design, ICT, project management, psychology, or a related creative, design or technology field.
  • Professional certification/s a bonus but not required (e.g. Agile, IAAP, Certified Design Thinking Professional).
  • An awareness and appreciation of the contemporary challenges facing government service delivery in Australia.
  • Strong research, writing and project coordination skills.
  • A keen interest in starting or growing a career in UX.

Many of our engagements involve working with clients that have a need for security, privacy and confidentiality. You must therefore be an Australian citizen and hold an AGSVA Baseline or NV1 clearance or have the ability to obtain one.
