Temporary 12-month contract - possible extension, Full-time, Herston | Manage and deliver statistical analyses and investigations of data through a range of reporting solutions to support enhanced mental health alcohol and other drug service delivery, research, evaluation and reformThe role We are seeking a senior data analyst with a willingness to learn and develop their skill base and participate in peer review activities for quality improvement.

Your duties will include delivering routine and ad hoc reports and analysis for quality improvement and service management initiatives using appropriate infrastructure and reporting solutions, such as a purpose-built data warehouse (SQL Server 2014), SQL programming, SSRS report builder, Power BI desktop and SAS programming.

You will undertake, interpret, and present analyses of specialised health and related data collections for use by the Department of Health, Hospital and Health Services, and other external organisations.

Additionally, you will support end-user access to reporting solutions and develop and maintain relevant documentation, including reporting guides and issue/request logs.

You will also participate in activities that safeguard information access, improve data integrity, and ensure efficient and accurate data retrieval.

Establishing and maintaining networks with internal and external stakeholders, you will proactively develop and maintain expert knowledge and awareness of the mental health and drug and alcohol treatment service system and strategic frameworks.

Supporting the continuous improvement of Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Branch activities and processes, as well as incorporating workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity, and anti-discrimination requirements into day-to-day work activities, will be essential.

In this role, you will adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies, and procedures to ensure high-quality, safe services and workplaces.

The successful person To excel in this role, you should possess strong data analysis skills, including the ability to analyse, interpret, and present complex administrative and clinical statistical or epidemiological data using advanced reporting solutions.

Proficiency in specialized business intelligence software, such as SAS programming, SSRS report builder, Power BI desktop and/or Structured Query Language (SQL), to interrogate data (

SFIA:
DATS, VISL, BPTS, INAS – level 5), is essential.
Additionally, you should demonstrate effective time-management and problem-solving abilities, as well as strong verbal communication skills that facilitate consultation and engagement with stakeholders (

SFIA:
RLMT, ADMN – level 5).

Demonstrated ability to work within a team and a willingness to learn is well regarded, as mentoring and training will provided ongoing to the successful application.
