About the role

Finance Officer (APS3 / APS4 ) will be working with the Finance Section, Corporate Operations, and Information Branch in Canberra office.

The applicant must have be a strong service delivery focus as the position has individual responsibility for a number of activities, including travel, coordination and assisting with other finance related activities.


Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with travel bookings, committee member bookings, external venue and catering hire coordination.
  • Assist with end of month, monthly, quarterly, annual financial reporting and support other finance tasks as required.
  • Assist with preparation for Internal Finance audits for end of financial year reporting.

Skills and Experience

  • Has a high attention to detail and a focus on delivery in a fastpaced environment by establishing priorities, practices, and methodologies to deliver quality outcomes.
  • Experience in data entry activities, financial management and reporting.
  • Software Knowledge in processing and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge on Finance1 ( Technology One)FMIS, ZENO, QBTA/AOT
  • Desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge/understanding of: Commonwealth Procurement Rules, Public Governance, Accountability and Performance (PGPA) Act 2013 and Public Governance, Accountability and Performance (PGPA) Rules 2014 will be desirable but not essential.
