You will be part of the Strategic Asset Management team supporting the engineering effort to improve the value derived from assets across the Melbourne Metropolitan Rail Network.

It involves all strategic, tactical, and operational parts of MTM working together within an agreed management system to achieve the performance objectives.

The Strategic Asset Management team operates an asset management system across the rolling stock, Infrastructure and Operational Control & Management Systems divisions of MTM.


Asset Analyst will support the team gather, analyse, and report on information designed to support asset performance through the asset lifecycle.

You will be involved with the improvement and transformation of asset data systems, asset lifecycle planning and asset reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety data.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Assist with strategy and planning for the asset management system
  • Assist in assuring asset management decision making is supported with sound data
  • Assists coordinate the asset lifecycle delivery review and improvements
  • Support the development of asset information standards and definitions
  • Coordinate activities required to make the asset management organisation efficient
  • Maintain Risk and Obsolescence registers
  • Develop and maintains the asset registers across the businesses
  • Assist in identifying asset costs and depreciation for the asset registers
  • Coordinate and contribute to asset uplift proposals
  • Assist with change management activities
  • Act as the asset teams document control

About you:

  • Experience supporting a transport maintenance environment, asset management data systems and asset lifecycle data analysis.
  • Qualification or equivalent experience and knowledge in Asset or Business Planning.
  • An understanding of asset management principles and practices, or description as to how your business planning experience will translate to asset management principles.
  • Welldeveloped verbal and written communication skills to prepare reports and submissions.
  • Demonstrated aptitude to continuous improvement and a commitment to professional development.
