Your responsibilities will include:

  • This is an excellent opportunity to work on the Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) program, Australia's biggest surface combatant ship project to date.
  • The Combat System Integration, Test, Evaluation and Acceptance (ITEA) Manager is primarily responsible for assessing the Combat System, determination of areas of integration risk and addressing those risks as early as possible.
  • In this role, you will:
  • Develop and maintain integration and test planning artefacts for the HCF Combat System (in particular the Contract ENG-140 System Integration Plan (SINTP)) that is aligned with Whole of Ship (WoS) integration, plans of the Test and Commissioning (T&C) team and the plans of the Requirements, Verification, Certification and Acceptance (RVCA) team
  • Build and manage an ITEA team to deliver the planned Combat System integration and test activities in the Land Based Test Site (LBTS) and Ships as well as using opportunities to undertake earlier integration at Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) facilities
  • Work with the Head of Combat System Functional Integration to manage the planning and management of schedule, cost, risk and opportunity baseline and management of the ITEA team
  • Guide the LBTS Delivery team's design and implementation of the HCF LBTS to ensure that it is aligned with planned and emergent Combat System integration and test needs

About you:

  • To be successful in securing this position, you will have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline from a recognised institution, and/or equivalent relevant experience (preferably within the defence industry)
  • Advanced ability to direct and influence specialist multidiscipline, multisite teams interfacing with a wide range of providers and customers
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in the development and integration of complex Systemofsystems equipment
  • Advanced ability to manage Technical Budgets, and resolve tradeoff issues
  • Extensive understanding of Safety evaluation and legislation including knowledge of the principles of the Defence Seaworthiness Management System (DSwMS)
  • Advanced understanding of design, manufacturing, assembly, commissioning, integration and testing
  • Highly advanced ability to plan and monitor events, assess and resolve technical issues and risks, and achieve pragmatic outcomes
  • Highly advanced ability to present and justify the SEA5000 CS Design Solution and associated risks to senior management
