The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) has the dual responsibilities of managing the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and being a private club, providing service and value to a 150,000 plus strong membership base that also has thirteen different sports represented under the club's banner.


With our commitment to delivering exceptional experiences to our members, patrons and guests that attend MCC events / functions, a new full-time role has become available in the Club Services, Sport & Heritage department - Functions & Hospitality team for a
Club Experience Lead.

Reporting to the Functions & Hospitality Manager, the
Club Experience Lead main responsibilities are to (however not limited to):

  • Provide planning, administration and management support to the Functions & Hospitality Manager for a variety of member engagement initiatives and club functions, inclusive of match day experiences.
  • Develop the delivery of member engagement initiatives being successfully delivered, providing a positive experience to all members and guests
  • Contribute to the operations of member bookings experience, ensuring excellent customer service as well as how we engage our members through communications
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, inclusive of entertainment, AV and catering
  • Produce innovative ideas and opportunities for engagement to challenge the status quo
  • Manage engagement budgets and ensure effective resource allocation as well as reconciliation
  • Drive opportunities to elevate our member hospitality at match
  • Liaise with internal departments and stakeholders to support initiatives and collaboration


To be considered for this position you will need to be to an experienced functions & hospitality leader with a genuine service-oriented style & customer focus and have professional personal impact and presentation skills.

An ability to build positive and collaborative stakeholder relationships at all levels both internally and externally through partnership and understanding of customer's needs is essential.


You will have also a creative innovative approach in your work, with a real eye for detail, and a passion for identifying opportunities to continuously improve offerings for members and guests through new opportunities to the Club Functions Calendar.

In addition, to be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Considerable experience in similar role in a service based or hospitality industry or sporting industry
  • Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook and customer database exposure
  • Ability to translate strategy into execution
  • Sound financial skills in budgeting and event/function reconciliation.
  • Highly developed communication and negotiation skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent time management, organisational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferable

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (business/event management, marketing)


The successful incumbent must also be prepared to assist in event execution which will involve working outside normal business hours, weekends, and public holidays.
