And now we're seeking an Associate Director, Technical Product Management to join our Tech Foundations Tribe and lead the Auth Services squad.

The Auth Services squad is a multi-disciplined squad of engineers (software, platform, and mobile) and architects, accountable for the build and run of the Group's primary customer identity and access management (CIAM) platform. This platform is critical to earning and retaining the trust of our customers by securing our APIs and digital experiences, ensuring that only authorised individuals can access critical information.

This is a senior role in our engineering organisation and will require you to develop a positive relationship with our Digital, CX, regulatory and cyber security teams. You will own the roadmap for the platform and apply a product mentality to its evolution; working with customers (internal product teams) to understand their needs, developing and evolving new and existing capabilities, and constantly seeking to improve the security and operational efficiency of the platform.

Our Technical Product Managers come from varied engineering, product, or delivery backgrounds – it's not unusual to find past experiences such as Staff Engineer or Product Owner or Delivery Lead on their LinkedIn profiles. What they all have in common is they're customer orientated, curious technologists who are passionate about product-thinking, and love to apply engineering to ensure what we build is balanced.

Your day in the life of a AD, Technical Product Management at Optus

  • Thought leadership, product management, and the engineering and operation of a scalable, reliable, and secure platform that meet business requirements and improves the efficiency of our feature teams.
  • Working with internal customers – developers, builder teams, product and engineering leaders - to continuously improve their user experience.
  • Finding opportunities to simplify processes and amplify value by adopting modern practices and technologies.

Your skills to pay the bills

  • Strong technical competency, especially with identity and access management services, developer platforms, and secure digital experiences.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager/Owner, Technical Lead, Technical Delivery Lead, or Principal Engineer.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to navigate complex technical environments with ease.
