About the role

  • Undertake health surveillance and diseases prevention and control activities for communicable and, on occasion, noncommunicable diseases.
  • Participate in health promotion, environmental health and other contemporary public health activities.
  • Conduct research projects relevant to public health medicine.
  • Provide public health information, education and advice to other health professionals, government agencies, industry, community groups and individuals.
