The Role


Accountable directly to the Associate Director, Investment Data Governance, the Investment Data Governance Analyst will be responsible for the implementation and support of the investment data governance framework.


The Analyst will work closely with stakeholders to ensure effective investment data governance practices are in place to achieve the best outcomes for the business.


Specific areas of responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain investment data governance policies, standards and procedures
  • Coordinate investment data governance checklist activities for projects related to investment data
  • Represent investment data governance in project meetings to ensure proper consideration and implementation throughout the project lifecycles
  • Support stakeholders to implement data quality framework and required controls
  • Maintain registers and templates for metadata and data mappings required for systems supported by team
  • Support the rollout of investment data governance roles and responsibilities across the organisation
  • Assist in coordinating working groups and committees to ensure effective collaboration and alignment
  • Contribute to development and maintenance of tooling required to support data governance initiatives
  • Educate business users on investment data governance policies, procedures, and standards


Overall, the Investment Data Governance Analyst will play an important role in driving effective investment data governance practices across the organisation.


Your Background and Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in data governance, data stewardship, or data management roles
  • Experience in developing data governance processes, standards, and policies
  • Understanding of data glossaries and dictionaries
  • Experience with data quality rules and controls
  • Experience with data governance tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business systems, computer science, data science, commerce or related field.
  • Knowledge of investment data (desired)
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements such as APRA, ASIC, and GDPR, as well as an understanding of their implications for data governance
  • Understanding of data quality concepts, investment data governance frameworks,
  • Experience with investment data governance tooling e.g., Collibra
  • Familiarity with data management tools and technologies such as ETL, data profiling, data catalogue, and data lineage
