What you'll do
As a Supply Chain Planner, you'll oversee the sourcing and supply of consumables from a diverse portfolio of suppliers.

Your responsibilities will include managing incoming components, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring excellent customer service through efficient execution of supply plans.

You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including Maintenance, Production, Labs, Planning, NPI, and Warehousing to prioritize tasks and make informed decisions to support our manufacturing capabilities.

Other key responsibilities would include but not limited to:

  • Coordinate operational supply of consumables in alignment with production, maintenance, lab, and other business areas.
  • Determine required materials and generate purchase orders to maintain optimal stock levels of consumable materials.
  • Ensure consumable materials meet specifications, quality standards, and costefficiency by balancing demand with supply to establish robust supply plans.
  • Escalate supply issues within AstraZeneca and organize/participate in supplier meetings with Operations Procurement to foster strong supplier relations.
  • Support/spearhead changes to consumable materials in cooperation with site stakeholders.
  • Maintain highquality Master Data for consumable materials.
  • Ensure operational plans are accurately reflected in the system by addressing MRP exceptions.
  • Participate in crossfunctional meetings to coordinate resolution of material deviations.
  • Collaborate with Operations Procurement on cost reduction and cost avoidance activities.
  • Cultivate effective relationships with suppliers, serving as the primary contact.
  • Minimize writeoff costs by working with relevant stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with suppliers regarding demand and daytoday delivery plans.
  • Set and maintain accurate minimum and maximum stock levels for assigned materials.
  • Establish correct safety stocks and profiles within SAP.
  • Manage discontinued components to minimize business costs.
  • Plan replenishment of AZ inventory and manage Return To Vendor and Blocked Stock processes.
  • Engage with crossfunctional teams daily to facilitate inbound operations.
  • Review and challenge operational plans in the system as needed.
  • Proactively review standards and ways of working to promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Support procurement with vendor and invoice management.
  • Actively participate in Practical Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement initiatives across functional teams.
  • Own risk management for critical consumables, ensuring effective coverage and escalation when necessary, throughout the business.

Essential for the role

  • Experience in MRP Environment
  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferably Pharmaceutical
  • Basic knowledge of procedures and compliance with cGMP and Safety, Health ans Environment requirements
  • Strong communication, analytical and negotiation skills
  • A minimum of 2 years in a similar role
  • In depth working knowledge of SAP & SAP MRP
  • High level of customer focus

Desirable for the role

  • Understanding of Sales & Operations Planning principles.
  • Greater knowledge of other areas of the Supply Chain would be beneficial,
  • Experience of working in a Lean environment, and knowledge of Lean principles and tools
