We require a full-time Production Manager to run our manufacturing department. The role would suit an experienced production manager from the exhibition, set building or shop-fitting industry.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Daily duties includes:

  • Managing the production areas to ensure all the factors required are being met. These include safety expectations, production outputs, staffing supervision and training.
  • Ensuring workflow is maintained, identifying potential maintenance issues and looking for CI processes.
  • Conducting staff recruitment and training, ensuring in particular new staff receive one on one attention to drive an understanding of the "Expo Centric Way" methods and practices.
  • Estimating the cost of projects.
  • Meeting KPIs around output and quality.
  • Working with project & Installation managers to ensure the customer receives a high standard of product quality.
  • Managing material usage to ensure full utilisation of materials, offcuts and sizings are achieved.
  • The role requires a continuous improvement approach, aimed at searching for alternative methods, equipment and process to improve outputs and minimize costs.

Skills and experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role preferably in exhibitions/events/film/retail but alike industries considered.
  • A high level of expectation around the performance of staff.
  • An understanding of safety systems and the part they play in the performance of a production environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude to be able to understand the machinery and what makes it work.
  • A cooperative attitude in managing a production team that meets the logistics requirements that rely on each other to get it done.
  • Cabinet making/ carpentry background is required.
  • Computer skills to be able to drive the machinery as necessary.
  • Demonstrated highlevel organisational skills.
  • Understanding of LEAN manufacturing processes.
