The Salvation Army North-West Family Violence Programs (the Program) in Victoria works with adult and child victim survivors who have experienced or are experiencing family violence.

The program provides a welcoming and accessible environment that is safe and supportive to individual needs.

The Program is committed to ensure that it is inclusive and sensitive to the needs of individuals from all backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders; people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex; people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities; and people with a disability.

The North-West Program is made up of three specialist FV case management teams in the North, West and Barwon; the FV refuge team; and the Afterhours Crisis and Transition Support Team in the North.

About the role


We are seeking a Family Violence Case Manager to provide outreach crisis response and support to victim survivors in crisis accommodation who have experienced and/ or are currently experiencing family violence.

This position encompasses the delivery of assessment and crisis response to adult and child victim survivors in the TSA refuges and FV residential units.

This role is instrumental in delivering high quality, safe and effective family violence and child well-being responses to those seeking support, safety, and recovery.

The Family Violence Services works with service users from a feminist perspective, aiming to empower and increase the safety of women and children.

You will successfully

  • Effective relationships that encourage selfdetermination and participation; and uphold the principles of the National Family Violence Model of Care are established with victim survivors
  • Case management and crisis support is provided to victim survivors in accordance with TSA case management models and standards of practice
  • Family violence crisis response model: Roles and responsibilities afterhours
  • Service gaps are identified and recommendations for service delivery improvements are made to the Team Leader
  • Work as a part of the afterhours team and in close collaboration with the TSA North CM, LTR and STR teams
  • Keep updated on reforms and resources in the family violence and related sectors to support victim survivors requiring crisis and case management support
This is a casual position, based within the Victorian North West Family Violence Programs in Coburg North, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 5.

You will have

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work is essential
  • Experience working in the family violence sector is desirable
  • Experience in specialist family violence and/ or child wellbeing work is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated case management experience and skills
  • Highly developed time management and work prioritisation skills with an ability to work autonomously with mínimal supervision required
  • Advance computer skills including experience in data and record management
  • Relevant child protection requirements are obtained for example Working with children check
  • A national police record check is required
