We have a new, world-class residential care home on the beach in Cottesloe and a leading dementia specific cottage-style home in Mosman Park.

Your role
We are looking for a passionate Lifestyle Coordinator/Therapy Assistant to join our team at our RiverSea Mosman Park home. This is a part time position, 61 hours per fortnight.

Thursday
Friday
Saturday

  • Undertake lifestyle activities and therapeutic interventions in partnership with residents and representatives, and in line with resident needs, care plans, duty statements, professional guidelines and organisational process.
  • Contribute to activity and therapy planning.
  • Act as a primary advocate for the resident living with dementia and their representatives and ensure the dignity, privacy and freedoms of residents are upheld in line with the Charter of Resident Rights and Responsibilities.
  • Ensure activities are focused towards function ability and independence.
  • Liaise with therapists, nurses and carers to ensure holistic, comprehensive delivery of care.
  • Document and report care interventions, observations, changes in needs and resident feedback in an accurate, objective and efficient manner.

You will need

  • Demonstrated aptitude to help improve the lives of older people living with dementia.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Reliable and positive work ethic.
  • Friendly and compassionate nature.
  • Attention to personal appearance.
  • Working rights.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • National Police Clearance (current to within threeyears).

Desirable:

  • Experience working in aged care, community services or disability services, ideally in a therapy or activity role.
  • Experience working with people living with dementia.
  • Certificate III or IV in aged care, community services, allied health (or equivalent).
  • Welldeveloped verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience working in a client focused culture that values continuous improvement.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to adapt work priorities and meet deadlines depending on the needs of the resident.
