We are currently looking for a

Project Planning Specialist on a full-time basis working

5 days a week. The position will be based and engaged on a 1 year by year basis with project durations to be over a number of years with a 6-month probationary period. We are looking for an immediate start.

Role Purpose:


Reporting to the lead execution coordinator the prime purpose of the position is to lead the plant interface requirements for the project construction team execution activities with a key focus on lead the project brownfield planning requirements for all execution activities, develop and manage the construction schedule and undertake all planning requirements for the major project.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Interface with other planners, project team, internal and external stakeholders, designers, vendors, and contractor teams to outline key project execution activities and establish the effective planning requirements
  • Develop and maintain baseline project plans and schedules using the appropriate software
  • Plan and maintain all tiein brownfield activities and progress site activities providing support where and as required to the site construction teams
  • Produce and issue updates to project plans and the master schedule
  • Produce and issue updates to the project labour requirements
  • Prepare and provide project plans in accordance with the project reporting requirements
  • Prepare and provide project progress and performance reports in accordance with the project reporting requirements
  • Provide SAP procurement services to the execution team as required
  • Monitor overall project progress status, achievement of major milestones and evaluate project performance in relation to project activities
  • Participate in all schedule risk analysis as required

Requirements of the Job:

  • Must have project background with heavy brownfields expertise
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Construction, Building, Operational, Project management or equivalent project delivery experience
  • Prior use with planning software such as Primavera 6, Microsoft project etc.
  • Proficient skills using SAP systems to support procurement activities
  • Collaborate with multiple or larger groups of internal stakeholders at various management levels
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of the core principles and concepts related to operating and maintaining of operational equipment
  • Previous project experience on projects ideally in a refinery processing plant
