The Opportunity:

KBR is involved in a range of exciting projects across market sectors including Energy, Resources, Water, Civil, and Rail infrastructure. Our team continues to grow based on some major project wins and we have an exciting opportunity for a talented and dedicated Project Controls Specialist to join our team in Perth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing and applying cost and schedule control techniques and analysis to Engineering Services projects.
  • Provides input to bid proposals, prepares estimates as required and allocates budget to committed funds.
  • Implement and execute project controls techniques to proactively support, monitor, and communicate budget, actual status, and forecast costs, labor hours, and quantities for projects.
  • Manage project budget. Work with project management and other members of the project team to maintain budget and provides input to project monthly reports.
  • Change Management - Change control recognises documents and analyses a deviation to the approved baseline. Change control ensures work quantification reflects baseline and forecast.
  • Commercial Acumen - Interprets the contractual scope of work/project execution plan and forecast and the consequential impact on the contractual baselines.
  • Forecasting - Identifies captures, validates and delivers Project Controls data to support project and/or business unit requirements.
  • Project Controls Data Management - Identifies captures, validates and delivers Project Controls data to support project and or business unit requirements.
  • WBS Structuring - Interprets the contractual scope of work, organizational and execution plan requirements. Develops a logical sub-division of work and coding structure to support project estimating, planning/scheduling and cost control. Ensures costs and commitments are recorded in accordance with the project WBS.
  • Presentation - Presents information clearly to audiences, utilizing appropriate delivery techniques and technology to maximize the effectiveness of the message.

Skills & experience required:

The ideal candidate for this role is a skilled and passionate professional wanting to progress in your career with a growing global consulting business.

You will have the following skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Accounting or related construction discipline or considerable experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of industry best practices in project controls, including estimating, cost control and planning/scheduling, for Engineering services type projects.
  • Must have proven experience in preparing estimates and executing month-end reporting including completing project tasks within assigned budgets and timeframes.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with demonstratable experience of interpreting complex financial data and identifying key insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills required.
