Join our dynamic Swinburne Employability Team as the Manager, WIL & Employability Quality In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape and enhance institution-wide WIL & Employability quality assurance standards, risk management approaches, and legal agreements.


As Manager, WIL & Employability Quality, you will be responsible for initiating, developing, reviewing and refining whole-of-institution procedures and approaches based on best-practice and evidence-informed WIL, and benchmarking of employability practice across the industry.

All Swinburne's students experience a scaffolded progression of WIL in their courses.

We have a sector-leading integrated powerhouse' Employability team to drive and support our WIL activities, with functions including industry engagement, academic offerings, careers, and operational activities.


Reporting to the Manager, Employability Operations, you will work closely with other Employability teams, Central Portfolios, Schools, and Departments to ensure institution-wide engagement with legal, risk management, and quality assurance aspects of WIL & employability practice.


To be successful in the role, you have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills as this will be crucial in collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders; and, you will also have exceptional organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines and adapt to changing demands.


About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated experience navigating legal issues, quality assurance, and risk management within a large and complex institution.
  • Experience navigating the current risks and issues relating to WIL & employability activities in tertiary education, in particular the complexities and interconnectedness of quality assurance, risk management and legal frameworks.
  • High level stakeholder management skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels and gain commitment
  • Outstanding evaluative, written and visual communication skills to facilitate analysis, reporting and outcome recommendations.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills including the ability simultaneously coordinate priorities to achieve deadlines and adapt to meet changing and competing demands.
  • Experience managing and coordinating committees and achieving outcomes from them.

Qualifications

  • A postgraduate degree in business administration, law, quality assurance and risk management or related field; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training
