Traffic Engineer (2-month contract)


We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Traffic Engineer to join our clients team on a 2-month contract basis.


This is the perfect opportunity for those who are existing council experienced traffic engineers wanting to trial a short term role to experience working for Sydney's most historic and respected councils.


As a Traffic Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and advice to support the delivery of traffic management and transportation projects in our clients local council.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct traffic studies, analysis and modelling to identify traffic patterns and issues.
  • Develop traffic management plans and provide recommendations for traffic control devices and signage.
  • Design and assess road safety improvements, including intersections and pedestrian facilities.
  • Consult with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, residents, and community groups.
  • Conduct field investigations to identify and evaluate traffic issues, including speed, volume, and parking concerns.
  • Prepare technical reports and provide recommendations to inform decisionmaking processes.
  • Provide technical input into the development of transport strategies and plans.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in traffic engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in traffic modelling software, such as SIDRA or VISSIM.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and standards related to traffic management and transportation.
  • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Current driver's license.
