About the role

Casual opportunity to contribute to the Speech Pathology Department and multidisciplinary teams at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) by providing therapy support to patients with swallowing and/or communication deficits delegated under the supervision of a speech pathologist.

This includes direct intervention with individuals and their significant others as well as activities within a group setting.
About you

  • Provision of individual and group activities as directed by the speech pathologist (including computer or devicebased therapy programs and communication/swallowing exercise programs), to inpatients with diverse medical conditions.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, speech pathologists, other hospital staff and work collaboratively as part of the healthcare team within the boundaries and scope of the role.
  • Initiate, plan, coordinate and evaluate in quality improvement activities regarding clinical assistant functions and participate in department activities as delegated.
