BlueScope Building Components business in Hamilton, Newcastle as an Accounts Officer.

BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions and services through its four leading brands:
Lysaght, Fielders, Ranbuild and Kiteleys.


Working within the commercial team of our two market facing businesses, Ranbuild and Kiteleys as an accounts and administration professional, you will be a key contributor of superior service to our internal and external customers.

In this varied role in which you'll be supported and mentored, you will support the business with accounting, debtors management, banking, accounts payable, vehicle management, reporting and administrative support.

What Will You Do?


This role will offer variety and scope for an enthusiastic team player who enjoys the full spectrum of a busy workplace.

Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will:

- lead debtor management, including establishment and maintenance of customer contracts and accounts, credit control, collections and reporting
- provide support to accounts payable processing
- prepare month-end journals, reviews, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting
- provide support to the wider team with a variety of administrative tasks such as vehicle fleet management
- actively contribute to process improvements

You'll have:
- strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels

  • Degree or Diploma level qualification in accounting
- previous accounts receivable experience
- confidence in the use of the MS Excel and the ability and enthusiasm to learn new systems
- a service-oriented mindset with the ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
- a growth mindset of continuous learning and improvement for yourself and the team
