About this role:


Also known within the business as Design Coordinator, in this role you will manage the design and oversee construction, testing and commissioning related aspects of the delivery of major and/or complex safety critical signal and operational systems solution from concept to commissioning ensuring the requirements (safety, time, cost, quality) of Queensland Rails internal and external customers are met.


You will be working on a range of projects across QR's capital, operational, externally funded and major projects and will see yourself networking with Subject Matter Experts from operations to risk advisors, safe-working experts, human factors, cross-engineering design and construct disciplines (track and civil, electrical, telecommunications and operational systems) and to Asset Managers for final acceptance.


What we are looking for:

  • A resourceful, analytical and articulate individual who can identify the critical aspects of delivering and managing a project.
  • Experience in planning, coordinating or delivering projects across Signalling/Electrical design, maintenance or construction would be advantageous.
  • Your ability to interpret technical requirements and find the balance between client and stakeholder requirements is key, along with ensuring any items relevant to safety, risk and cost are managed and documented to an acceptable level.
  • Experience in Project Management or Project Coordination roles would be preferred.
  • Demonstrate ability to build networks with key stakeholders to help formalise decisions from an Operational, Safety, Risk perspective.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage budgets and risk.
  • Experience in procurement or contract management.
