Applications are now invited from suitably experienced Program Management professionals for a new role within the Australia Sector.


Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, as our new Head of P3M Excellence, you will lead on Sector Program Management framework, competency development, toolsets and assurance.

In terms of location, we are flexible to consider applicants from all Australian capital cities.

In terms of the finer detail, in this key role you will:
Own the Sector P3M Excellence strategy (including program lifecycle frameworks) and deployment across the sector
Deploy and evolve global P3M principles, policy, procedure, competency framework, toolsets across the sector
Ensure cross-sector identification of capability needs and development of P3M and operational staff
Deploy training, governance frameworks and other capability needs
Develop and maintain group-wide P3M communities of interest
Provide first line leadership on Sector governance and P3M/operational execution
Work closely with others within the Sector and Group Functions to develop and embed a knowledge management approach to "lessons learnt" including a method to develop and embed lessons into the Sector
Promote excellence in performance, continuous improvement culture and professionalism

As an ideal applicant for this key new role, you're a proven enabler of organisational program management professionalism.

You'll have honed your skills through the leadership of a variety of complex engineering programs and at this point in your career, enjoy using your broad experience to lead assurance, capability development and professionalism within the project management function.


We're also looking for:

Experience of product and programme management - including within production environments

Experience in leading, running and delivering an equivalent level 'function'

Extensive cross discipline P3M experience - Project, programme and portfolio management

Extensive governance and assurance delivery experience

Suitable qualifications including professional body chartership

Experience in programme controls, risk management, governance and programme assurance

Superior leadership, interpersonal, relationship building and influencing abilities - demonstrated through your proven experience in influencing project management performance in technically complex, engineering based organisations


Whilst not essential, experience within the aviation related industry and/or within defence (air, land or sea) will be highly regarded.

Experience operating in international organisations with multi-national operations will be viewed favourably.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance. A current security clearance to NV1 level will be considered favourably.
