Job Description:

As an expert in Oracle GoldenGate Database Administration, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, accessibility, and efficiency of our databases utilizing Oracle GoldenGate technology. Your main responsibilities will revolve around designing, implementing, and managing database replication solutions that align with our operational requirements.

We will primarily utilize OGG for real-time data replication between distinct systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on experience as a DBA using Oracle GoldenGate.
  • Proficiency in working with the Oracle GoldenGate Microservices Architecture.
  • Installation expertise in the Oracle GoldenGate Microservices Architecture.
  • Utilization of Oracle GoldenGate for transforming CDC transactions into a JSON Canonical Message Model and vice versa.
  • Experience with various GoldenGate Adapters like the JMS Adapter and the Big Data Adapter.
  • Executing Extract/Load/Transform functions within Oracle GoldenGate.
  • Configuration and testing of GG Veridata for functional data confirmation between Oracle and MSSQL.
  • Close collaboration with data modelers to integrate business rules into GG code for CDC transformation.
  • Installation, setup, and management of Oracle GoldenGate software in multiple environments (development, testing, production).
  • Designing and deploying database replication solutions through Oracle GoldenGate to ensure superior availability, disaster recovery, and data amalgamation.
  • Monitoring and enhancing the performance of GoldenGate replication operations, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Working closely with diverse teams to collect requirements and offer technical insights for robust database solutions.
  • Creation and maintenance of documentation concerning GoldenGate configurations, processes, and protocols.
  • Regular execution of backups, restores, and recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity and accessibility.
  • Implementation and reinforcement of security protocols to secure sensitive data in the GoldenGate environment.
  • Continuous awareness of the latest Oracle GoldenGate enhancements, patches, and upgrades, with suggestions for their integration.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive background of over 15 years as an Oracle Database Administrator focusing on GoldenGate.
  • Thorough understanding of Oracle GoldenGate architecture, setup, and problem resolution.
  • Proficient in database fundamentals, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery.
  • Capability in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python) for automation and monitoring tasks.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to thrive in a collaborative work setting.
