About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an ongoing Licensing Officer to play a key role in providing excellence in provision of information and resolving customer enquiries.


You will contribute by:

  • Working as a member of a small Licensing team to maintain the Licensing Register in relation to registration of electrical contractors, licensing of electrical workers, electrical inspectors, registration of spotters and line workers.
  • Performing an effective and efficient customer service role, in relation to advice given to the general public and industry with regard to licensing and registration requirements.
  • Undertaking the receipt of monies derived from registration and licensing and undertake required reconciliation as required.
  • Maintaining and upholding the accuracy and integrity of the Electrical Register as administered under the Electricity Safety Act 199
  • Providing information to customers and other stakeholders on requirements and processes both over the telephone, in writing and at reception.
  • Ensuring an uptodate knowledge of licensing and registration requirements by having a relevant knowledge of the regulations, training bodies, processes and licensing requirements.
  • Performing general administration and reception tasks, such as meet and greet in response to licensing related enquiries and answering the telephone in a high volume call centre team environment.
About you

To be successful, you'll have:

  • Significant clerical and data processing experience in an administrative or licensing role.
  • Proven experience in a strongly customer orientated environment, including experience liaising effectively with a wide range of customers.
  • Demonstrated strong administrative skills and attention to detail, including experience working with regulations and guidelines.
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills, including proven experience negotiating with difficult customers and working cooperatively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, including significant experience with databases, Intermediate Word and Basic Excel
  • Experience in the energy industry or public sector would be highly regarded.
