Reporting to the Deputy Director-General Innovation and working with the Queensland Chief Entrepreneur, as Executive Director Operations within the Innovation Branch, you will collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders including other government departments, businesses, universities, start ups and investors to ensure innovation is central to delivering economic competitiveness and enhancing performance.
You will help ensure Queensland becomes a leading and sustainable world-class innovation economy across six priority areas: Capital attraction; Research collaboration and commercialisation; Talent, skills and new technologies; Innovative and sustainable solutions; Innovation precincts and places; and a Connected and inclusive innovation ecosystem.
By leading a diverse and collaborative team that truly values supporting the creation, scale up and international success of researchers, innovators and businesses, your expertise in shaping and influencing stakeholder engagement strategies will ensure the Department strengthens the innovation ecosystem while delivering economic growth and jobs across the entire state.
You will deliver policies and programs by guiding and motivating the innovation community and your team to realise government priority areas.
Key to your success is your ability to pinpoint opportunities for enhancing efficiency whilst remaining cognisant of operational policies.This will involve streamlining procedures, maximising government investment returns, and establishing a strong, outcome-focused reporting framework.
As a passionate and inspirational executive leader, your ability to effectively communicate and negotiate will see you deliver outstanding outcomes with integrity, sound judgment and an appreciation of the nuances of operating within a political environment.
We are seeking a creative, strategic and authoritative individual with extensive experience delivering advice on innovation and economic development, whilst remaining aware of international and economic trends to maximise program delivery, deliver insightful analysis and promote awareness, thinking and action by all stakeholders.
