Hours:
Approximately ten hours a month, in addition to preparing for, and participating in, Board meetings.

About the role As our Chair has now come to the end of her term in office, we are looking to recruit a new Chair with the skills andexperience to lead the Board of Directors, promoting good governance and providing effective and empowering linemanagement to support our CEO.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who has the strategic focus,governance understanding, leadership experience and time to support and develop a committed Board and ensure ENSA delivers the best experience for students.

About ENSA's Board of Directors The Board is collectively in charge of ENSA, for upholding its values and aligning it to the Association's charitableaims.

It has overall responsibility for ENSA's governance: budget-setting and financial reporting, health andsafety, human resources and legal compliance.

The Board is made up of 12 Directors: six External Lay Directors (including the Chair) appointed through acompetitive process for their professional expertise; three Student Lay Directors who are registered students of Edinburgh Napier University and appointed through a competitive process; and three Sabbatical Officers who areelected by the student body.

In line with charity law, all ENSA's Directors (elected and appointed) have equal status.

Directors have a variety ofexperience and skills which offer different perspectives, and are all, jointly and severally, liable for thegovernance of the charity.

Directors are expected to take their responsibilities seriously, attend meetings, andmanage any conflicts of interests appropriately.

We are looking for an organised and customer-focused Student Activities Administrator to work within our Student Engagement Team to support the smooth running of our sports clubs and societies.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Arrange and amend bookings for indoor/outdoor venues and transport to ensure the smooth running of student‐ledclubs and societies; and keep up‐to‐date records of bookings
  • Work with other Associations/Unions to fulfil and maintain the sports club fixture schedule (British Universities& Colleges Sport / Scottish Student Sport), ensuring all relevant information is submitted accurately and ontime by sports clubs
  • Respond to student and external stakeholder queries in a timely manner
  • Maintain a system of recording equipment use (e.g.
issued / returned) and carry out inventories

  • Provide support to the Head of Student Activities, the Sabbatical Officers and the wider Student Engagement Team asnecesary Location : You will be based at ENSA's main office on the Merchiston Campuswith regular travel to the Sighthill Campus and occasional travel to Craiglockhart.

The Edinburgh Local Employability Partnership (ELEP) brings together key stakeholders in Edinburgh to manage theemployability landscape and identify priorities and manage challenges and make best use of our collectiveresources.

The Edinburgh Local Employability Partnership (ELEP) consists of senior stakeholders from the key organisations inthe city: The City of Edinburgh Council, Edinburgh College, University of Edinburgh, EVOC, Department of Workand Pensions, NHS Lothian, Chamber of Commerce, and the Joined up for Jobs Forum.

It also has widerinfrastructure for operational support and commissioning of services.

To support the Edinburgh Local Employability Partnership (ELEP) in wider horizon scanning and to stimulate andfacilitate discussions, we are seeking an independent Chair for the first time to lead up to four meetings perannum to help guide and challenge our approach and enable ambitious conversations to take place.

The role of Chair will be fully supported by the facilitating organisation, Capital City Partnership, with allsecretariat functions provided, an induction to understand the sector role and responsibilities, and on-goingsupport as required.

The role is a leadership one and not administrative.

The desirable qualities and experience we're looking for in our new Chair are: Experience of senior stakeholder engagement Experience of public speaking to a senior levelaudience Excellent leadership, partnership, and relationship skills Understanding of therecruitment challenges facing employers Awareness of barriers jobseekers face seeking employment (thoughsupport in this will be given as part of an induction and on-going relationship)Some knowledge orexperience of the poverty, employability, or skills sector Chairing quarterly ELEP meetings, which run to approximately two hours in person Representing the ELEPpriorities and concerns across stakeholders and influencers Attending bi-monthly online briefingsessions with Capital City Partnership on core work and progress of actions Liasing with Capital City Partnership on promoting good governance amongst the ELEP and reaching consensus around priorities The Chair role will be for a term of two years.

ECCAN was set up in May 2022 and we have now grown to be a network of 247 members including 76 community groups.

TRUSTEES TERMS OF APPOINTMENTTerms of Office- Trustees will be co-opted until the next election at the Annual General Meeting in November 2024- This is a voluntary position, but reasonable expenses are reimbursed i.e.

childcare, travel etc.

Time Commitment Around seven hours per month, of which trustees meetings lasting two hours every The Human Rights Consortium Scotland is the civil society network to defend and promote human rights in Scotland.

With over 210 network member organisations from across civil society, we work together in all sorts of ways, such asby sharing information and insights, projects or research on specific issues, and around influencing policy andlaw.

Human rights in Scotland and the UK are at an important point, with increased interest and understanding of humanrights, whilst many live without realisation of their rights on a daily basis.

There are both threats to humanrights legal protections, and opportunities to make human rights law in Scotland stronger and moreeffective.

We therefore want to increase and strengthen the Consortium's Board to respond to, and navigate, the challenges andopportunities that we face.

Role We are looking for up to 5 new trustees who will help us shape the organisation to be human rights-based, withexcellent governance and strategic priorities.

In advance of our first Board elections in Autumn 2025, we arelooking for trustees to serve for approx.
one year, with the option to then stand for election or be co-opted onby the new Board.
