About the position
As part of the Place & Activation Team, the Public Activities and Events Crew will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe management of events. Responsibilities include site preparation, technical support, event supervision, running community activities, and engaging with the community. Reporting to the Place & Activation Program Manager, Crew Members may assist in other programs within the department as needed.
Key requirements
- Prior experience in public activations, events, audio/lighting, venue management, or recreation programs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting weights up to 16kg
- Proficiency in using basic tools, lighting equipment, and technical gear
- Basic knowledge of power and cable management
- Experience with Microsoft programs
- Valid Class C Driver's License
Preferred qualifications
- Relevant industry certification in events management, live production, or sound engineering
- Experience in community engagement with diverse stakeholders
- Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one
Offered salary: $41.55 per hour, with a 25% casual loading as applicable.
