About the team


Transport Shared Services (TSS) Banking provides variety of banking and cash reconciliation services for client agencies values of up to $500 million per week which including the coordination and management of inbound and third party payments; forecasting and risk mitigation of cash shortages; and resolution of cash handling and banking discrepancies.

Administration of corporate banking on behalf of the cluster agencies, identify who owns the money and where it will be allocated, in addition to disbursements of revenue in a timely manner, we managed 5 Sub-Systems (DRIVES, GLS, CRS, IntelliMatch and Salesforce) when it interfaces into SAP.


The opportunity


Right now, we have an opportunity for a
Shared Services Consultant (SSC) to join us in Transport Shared Services (TSS) division of Transport for NSW.

This is a Fixed Term full-time opportunity until 30/06/2024. Though the base location for the role is Burwood, we offer flexible working arrangements.

The primary purpose of the role is to process a range of banking and revenue as well as more complex accounts receivables transactions.

The SSC position will operate within either Banking; Debt Recovery; or Receipting and Invoicing teams at any one point and would provide high-quality and accurate processing of transactions and enquires, ensuring that issues are resolved satisfactorily, speedily and in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) whist meeting service performance targets.


What you will be involved in

  • Work cooperatively within the team, exchange information and assist other team members to achieve team objectives and work outcomes.
  • Communicate with stakeholders in a courteous way, demonstrating a willingness to assist and a commitment to providing highquality service
  • Suggest improvements to processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness, as well as to accommodate changing legislation and regulations
  • Achieve the required shared services performance levels in terms of customer satisfaction, efficiency and effectiveness of services provided
  • Effectively use a range of computerised systems, technology and telephony solutions to undertake work tasks, triage, refer or escalate work tasks, enter data and maintain up to date records in order to facilitate work allocation, performance analysis and service improvement
  • Support the Manager in the provision of onjob coaching and training to both peers and customers in system adoption, standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Under the direction of the Service Improvement team, undertake the writing and review of knowledge articles for tier 2 enquiries and transactions.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience working in accounts payable, accounts receivable and/or banking and revenue, including the management and resolution of disputes and discrepancies
  • Experience with and sound understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, accounting principles, standards and policies.
  • Advanced capability to communicate clearly, concisely and appropriately both orally and in writing.
  • Sound numeracy ability with solid analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and to learn and implement new processes and procedures as new technology, service requirements and work methods emerge
  • Experience using multiple computerbased systems and ability to learn new systems with ease.

Salary and Benefits


The salary for this position is Transport Service Grade 5 ($87,256 to $95,984) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
