Manager Building and Plumbing

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to join our Regulatory Services group as Manager Building and Plumbing. The successful candidate will lead our building and plumbing team to provide a compliance support service for council, ensuring applications comply with relevant acts, regulations, codes, standards, and are lodged appropriately, while meeting the statutory timelines embedded in our processes.

The Manager Building and Plumbing will be the primary permit authority on building and plumbing matters and will ensure contemporary, quality and timely services that support our strategic objectives and align with our desired culture, values, and purpose.

ABOUT YOU

  • Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) at the management level with a demonstrable portfolio management and leadership focus, preferably in local government, that delivers an outcome focussed approach, with strong people leadership, financial, and risk management foundations.
  • Demonstrable subject matter experience relevant to the group objectives, strategic and operational accountabilities of the role, specifically in contemporary building and plumbing issues and principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including presentation skills, negotiation skills and the ability to adjust communication, tactics or priorities in response to organisation or audience requirements.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and the ability to exercise judgement, discretion and initiative in problem solving.

WHAT WE OFFER YOU

The role is full-time and ongoing. A base salary between $111,605.33 and $122,326.47 will be negotiated with the preferred candidate + 12.5% superannuation and a 19-day month. A guaranteed CPI salary increase applies to this salary in July 2024.
