Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Vow Full time
About Our Company

Vow is not your ordinary food company. We are all about producing authentic meat products using animal cells, without the need for the whole animal.

Our mission involves blending the latest advancements in science, engineering, culinary arts, and design to offer sustainable and delectable food options to people worldwide.

Position Overview:

Vow is on the lookout for a seasoned professional who is passionate about our mission and has a proactive attitude. As the Reliability Engineering and Food Safety Lead, your responsibilities will include implementing reliable engineering solutions, establishing a food safety strategy, and developing a quality management system within a new manufacturing setting.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing risks, meeting challenging timelines, and driving innovations across design, processes, and operations to elevate product quality significantly.

You will serve as the vital link in our manufacturing team, leveraging data and intuition to guide design, processes, and operations towards optimal solutions. • Proficiency in developing new or enhancing existing Quality Management systems.
  • Familiarity with, or a quick grasp of, HACCP/HARPC food quality systems.
  • Background in addressing and resolving customer inquiries effectively.
  • Experience in coordinating internal and external audits.

  • Resourceful mindset with a knack for devising quick and innovative solutions adaptable for long-term use.
  • Data-driven approach, utilizing metrics to drive quality enhancements and introduce new data collection methods in production settings.

Note: You do not need to meet all criteria listed above. If you possess some of these skills and can contribute to this role, we encourage you to apply - we value your unique perspective.

Key Objectives:

Within the First Month:

  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of Vow's manufacturing processes, bioreactor operations, and food safety protocols.
  • Evaluate the existing quality management system and draft a preliminary strategic plan for the next three months.
  • Establish trust and foster strong relationships with team members and partners from different departments.

Within the First Three Months:

  • Create essential processes and workflows to ensure adherence to Food Safety and Quality standards.
  • Introduce and implement technical solutions to reduce product risks and boost manufacturing reliability.
  • Lead team development and growth initiatives, strategizing to tackle present and future challenges, including recruitment strategies.

Within the First Year:

  • Demonstrate substantial enhancements in key quality metrics, such as error frequency and contamination rates, ensuring seamless factory operations and meeting production targets.
  • Implement mechanisms to monitor quality metrics in real-time and historically.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external quality and food safety standards, setting up documentation and rapid response protocols for quality concerns.
  • Establish internal benchmarks and excel in external audits, reinforcing Vow's reputation as a high-integrity food producer.
