Principal Wills and Estate Planning Consultant**- Full Time: Temporary up-to 12 months, 35 hours a week - starting August 2024.

About the team


The Estate Planning & Administration division is responsible for delivering NSW Trustee and Guardian's commercial services in Will making, as trustee, attorney, and as administrator/executor of deceased estates.

The teams administer assets in accordance with the functions and obligations under the relevant legislation and make legal decisions within legal frameworks and NSWTG's prescribed delegations.

The division delivers high-quality service using a customer-centred approach and is delivered by:

  • Estate Administration
  • Trust and Powers of Attorney Administration
  • Intestate, Life Estates and Crime Confiscation/Civil Forfeiture administration
  • Wills and Estate Planning

About the role


The role is responsible for effectively leading a high performing regional team to deliver professional, high quality and timely Wills and Estate Planning services to the NSW community.

The role is responsible for managing the teams' performance, ensuring services meet the needs of customers, there is growth in our market share and the services that are delivered are financially sustainable.

This includes the delivery of services that align to NSW Trustee and Guardian's Customer Excellence Principals and working with key partners to support the increased delivery of professional planning ahead services across NSW.

About you

  • Experience in drafting and executing Wills and Estate Planning instruments that are legally compliant and to a high standard.
  • Ability to provide support and believe that supporting customers to document their last wishes is a privilege that needs to be carried out with warmth, support, understanding, and the utmost respect.
  • Strong collaboration skills and can build & develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Essential requirements

  • Current driver licence and ability to travel across NSW as required.
  • Willingness to obtain accreditation in Will making, Power of Attorney and Enduring Guardianship documents. Training and accreditation is provided by NSW Trustee and Guardian.
  • Available to work after hours and weekends as required and in particular circumstances.
