Within their regional Australian market, lead the team of banking professionals to deliver growth, customer, risk, people/ team and community outcomes.
The State Manager will lead a diverse and dispersed team across large geographical regions (QLD) through complex credit risk, continuous organisational change, growing and managing a customer focussed business, and also plays an active part of the local community.
A People Champion, you will effectively manage the risk profiles and asset quality of the portfolio to ensure a sustainable business.
You will translate the Group strategy into workable solutions and guides the work of others to ensure alignment with strategy.

- Design, implement and monitor an effective business strategy and marketing plan agreed with the HO Commercial & Property Finance to grow and improve regional profitability.
- Utilise and manage the region's network and resources to deliver the agreed business plan and allocated business objectives, including growth, sales, service, expenses, connected customer, credit quality and return on equity targets across the region.
- Represent the Bank (the face of the Bank) regionally to maximise visibility of the Suncorp Bank brand by actively and positively promoting the company at public events &/or business events.
- Driving change and influencing successful outcomes with existing and new customers.
- Constantly monitor and drive continuous improvement of customer service levels and customer satisfaction outcomes for the region.
- Ensure sound Risk Management principles and systems are in place. This includes; proactively identify risks, implement actions and improvements to remedy, and monitor outcome of remedies
- Manage the team to meet audit and compliance objectives with corporate policies andprocedures, as well as complying with industry code of practice and legislative requirements.
- Identify an acceptable level of lending risk in line with Suncorp's Risk Appetite Statement.
What you'll bring
- Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, banking and/or finance is highly desirable.
- 10+ years' experience in business management and business banking environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, and ability to create and manage highly motivated and
- Demonstrated experience in banking/financial services focused on performance and service delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in roles requiring growth and retention of a customer base.
- Demonstrated experience in business development and community engagement.
- Exceptional relationship management skills
- Lead, coach and develop capability of team members, ensuring scorecards and professional development plans are created and executed
- Ability to develop solutions and courses of action and recommend solutions by using an information base to identify key issues, compare with other data, and determine causeeffect relationships
- Ability to understand complex home buying scenarios and the ability to influence key stakeholders
- Very strong home buying credit skills
