    About IROC
  • Perth City Square is home to BHP Iron Ore's stateoftheart Integrated Remote Operations Centre (IROC). IROC is a wellestablished stateoftheart control operations facility operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using advanced, realtime technology to enable visibility and control, across the entire Iron Ore supply chain. Working collaboratively with our mining operations we strive to contribute and continuously improve safety and performance outcomes of our business.

    About the Role
  • The IROC New to Industry Program provides you with hands on experience and learning within our IROC Control Teams over a 12 month period. As a Controller you take ownership for the safety of our people in the field, achieving production targets, by enabling the effective operation of daytoday job specific requirements.
This program provides the participants with the opportunity to rotate through the Control and Scheduling departments including:

  • Autonomous Drill Control
  • Conventional Mine Control
  • Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) Control
  • Fixed Plant Control
  • Rail Control
  • Port Control
  • Supply Chain Scheduling


 About You
  • We are eager to connect with enthusiastic, motivated, passionate and adaptable people that are keen to learn new skills and embark on a career within the mining industry.
  • Experience in a control room environment or in a mining related industry is NOT essential as we are looking to encourage individuals from all backgrounds. Training will be provided, developing you to be successful in these roles.

  • Motivation to learn and develop new skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge
