The Role

Reporting to the CEO while working closely with the Directors across Sales, Marketing and Operations, you will be responsible for the commercial and operational success of your portfolio of Events. You will be charged with leading senior managers in the delivery of day to day operations to deliver commercial success, growth of the business and ensuring the engagement and development of respective team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic planning and execution to deliver revenue and profit targets
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen to ensure the achievement of revenue, contributions and profitability
  • Determining objectives, strategies, policies and programs for organisations
  • Demonstrate a customer focus by providing effective and creative solutions for our customers, and achieve strong customer retention and growth
  • Responsible for the planned growth of the portfolio
  • Recruitment of staff for the portfolio
  • Developing a high performing and engaged team through coaching, mentoring and motivation
  • Ensuring the organisation complies with company laws and other relevant legislation
  • Preparing, or arranging for the preparation of, reports, budgets and forecasts and presenting them to the board

Skills and experience

  • Knowledge of sales, project management and general business management
  • Proven business management skills with a track record of growth and profitability
  • Tertiary qualifications
  • Experience in developing budgets and reporting on performance including forecasting
  • Experience managing staff from different work areas and skill sets ie/ sales, administration and marketing.
