Our client, a large membership-based organisation located in Melbourne's CBD, is seeking an experienced Governance Advisor to join their Education and Operations team.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Education and Operations, this position is responsible for providing proactive governance support services to the organisation including; the Corporate Governance and Risk Committee (CGRC); other organisational committees; Company Secretary, Chief Executive Officer and President.


Your new role:

  • Ensure governance documents are accurate, prepared and maintained in accordance with established governance processes
  • Draft governance documents relating to committees, including but not limited to Regulations, position descriptions, election notices and nominations
  • Coordinate and administer the election processes relating to the Board and all organisational committees, including drafting and distributing call for nominations, ballots, appointment letters etc
  • Work with staff in supporting the election process across all committees
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate record keeping with respect to governance decisions and committee membership
  • Proactively identify the training needs of key stakeholders and deliver tailored training (including the induction of new members), to support governance processes in accordance with best governance practice
  • Lead and support governance projects and continuous improvement projects in relation to improving the organisation's governance

You will ideally have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in governance and risk management or experience in a similar role
  • Experience in providing executive support to committees including preparing agendas, minute taking and drafting documents for committees
  • Experience in the administration of governance policy and procedures, maintenance of registers, support of corporate delegations, authorisations and other governance related matters
  • Proven experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and related processes involving the review of systems and procedures
  • Proficiency in SharePoint, Kentico and/or Cognito, highly desirable
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently with mínimal supervision
