As the Project Manager, Chamber Systems, you will be the department's key representative in the upgrade/replacement of core Table Office information systems that support the operations of the House of Representatives.

Supported by a Senior Project Officer, you will directly support and influence the projects to replace the Table Offices Production System (TOPS), the Bills System and functionality to support Questions in Writing.

You will also be a point of contact and liaison for Senior Project Officers embedded in the Serjeant's and Committee Offices.


Chamber systems are unique and play a critical role in facilitating the operations of the House of Representatives and Federation Chamber.

To succeed in this role, you will need a thorough understanding of House of Representatives and Federation Chamber business, as well as the existing information systems and their data sources.

You will be embedded in the House of Representatives Table Office to rapidly become familiar with the subject matter and work closely with Table Office staff.


You will be a subject matter expert for these projects, empowered to make timely decisions on behalf of the department on business requirements, solution design, system integrations, and outputs.

You will also contribute to the development of a new centralised parliamentary calendar capability.

You will supervise a Senior Project Officer and ensure all relevant project objectives and milestones are met.

The key duties of the position include

Provide input as a subject matter expert on House of Representatives practices and processes to support upgrades to key information systems supporting the operations of the House of Representatives.


  • Manage the department's activities in these projects as a product owner, including input into requirements development, solution design, procurement, quality assurance, testing and data migration as required.
  • Supervise the work of a Senior Project Officer, and facilitate communication and collaboration across the project team, and other Senior Project Officers located in the Committee and Serjeant's Offices. Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Liaise with relevant business areas, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes and alignment with business needs and expectations.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, risks, issues, and budget, and escalate any concerns or challenges as required.
  • Other project management and business information system tasks as required.
