Salary: Level 1$ $37.87 per hour (Casual Rate); $ $30.29 (Hourly Rate for Part-time or Full-time) (NB. pending qualifications; age based salary rates apply if under 18)

Your Role

As a Facilities Officer (Grounds) you will play a vital role in maintaining the school grounds and gardens to a high standard, ensuring they are safe, clean and aesthetically pleasing. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Grounds keeping: Mow, trim, fertilise lawns and turf areas. Repair and maintain irrigation systems. Weed, plant and fertilise gardens. Maintain grounds equipment. Check and adjust security lighting
  • Maintenance: Assist with minor building maintenance as directed. Support contracts requiring access to school property or buildings. Carry out minor repairs to school property and equipment including: replacing tap washers, repairing leaking toilets, repairing windows, repairing leaking toilets, repairing windows, repairing desks and chairs and basic painting as directed.
  • Events: Assist with marking sporting fields and grounds. Assist with the setup and dismantling of tents and equipment related to school functions.
  • Safety: Assess equipment to determine if minor repairs are required. Assist with the completion and documentation of a variety of workplace health and safety tasks as required by the principal.
