The Role


The role of Disability Support Worker in Accommodation Services is to provide support to our high needs Disability clients who require assistance with personal care and daily tasks.


Our service to is assist clients with high support needs this may include clients who use wheelchairs and other aids and we provide additional support for their medical and care needs.

This role will require you to have experience and or training in using the aids to assist our clients and a high level of understanding around Manual Handling.

Residents are supported each morning and afternoon, overnight and on weekends by experienced and qualified staff.

We have a strong focus on developing the skills of each individual to live as autonomously as possible within a shared living and one on one environment.


About Your New Role

  • Are you passionate about supporting clients with disabilities / mental health and advancing and empowering the lives of others.
  • Are you compassionate and demonstrates empathy.
  • Are you able to handle complex or challenging situations calmly and rationally.

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with clients to actively support individual needs.
  • Resilience, selfconfidence and willingness to engage clients with various backgrounds and needs.
  • Ability to prioritize and demonstrates problem solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work shift work, regular sleepovers, weekends and public holidays.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office suite particularly MS Word and MS Outlook.
  • Current valid Provisional or Unrestricted Australian Driver's License.
  • Current Blue Card or the willingness to obtain.
  • NSW NDIS Workers screening Check, or willing to obtain.
  • Ability to pass a National Criminal History Check.
  • Covid 19 Vaccinations status including booster
  • Pre Employment Assessment

Desirable Criteria

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent.
  • Experience with high needs Disability clients
  • Demonstrated understanding in the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes.
  • Mental Health First Aid
