This is a role for a Project Officer - City Design to support the team providing design solutions for a range of place-based projects encompassing streetscapes, urban renewal, parks and reserves, linear trail and transport corridors and other key sites and precincts.

The role is flexible in terms of working arrangements, location and number of days per week.

The most important factor is your technical capacity and motivation to make a difference to the public realm of Ballarat.


The areas you will work across will include:

  • Supporting the development of public realm projects from feasibility through concept and sketch design, preparation of functional layouts, design development and documentation as part of an in-house design team.
  • Support the preparation of high
- quality design collateral including visualisations where required for community, stakeholder and funding body engagement purposes.

  • Working with internal and external stakeholders on the delivery of projects you have helped design.
  • Assistance with the preparation of tenders, proposals and submissions.
  • Performing site visits.

Essential Experience / Attributes:

  • Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate design or project management related discipline or relevant practical experience working on projects in the public realm.
  • Demonstrated experience in the daytoday project management of complex projects that are effectively delivered within budget and against predetermined timelines.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement for projects in the public realm.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and consultation skills.
  • Australian resident.
This role is classified as Band - with a competitive salary of $84,185 to $91,218 rate plus 10.5% superannuation.
