SUMMARY


The HSE Professional is responsible for reviewing and verifying the Safety and Health Policies, Procedures, and Training Pre-qualification requirements on behalf of Avetta Clients and Contractor Members.

The HSE Professional works under the supervision of the designated HSE Lead, APAC.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Conduct Manual Audits to assess a Contractor's Safety and Health Policies, Procedures, and Training documentation required based on exposure hazards associated with services performed.

The Audits are intended to ensure compliance with applicable WHS (Work Health and Safety) standards and legislation (State, Territory, etc.) as well as any Client site requirements.

In addition, the HSE Professional will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist customers with closing gaps or deficiencies as a result of the audit
  • Perform customer verifications and Audit closure assistance
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries
  • Record details of inquiries, comments and complaints within the Contractor Account Notes
  • Forward customer complaints or concerns to the Designated HSE Lead or Audit Manager in a timely manner.

  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Be available to travel nationally to conduct WHS site audits access to reliable transportation therefore required
  • May be required to attend training, meetings, or seminars.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to interpret and make decisions based on WHS standards and legislation, plus industry best practices, and/or Client requirements
  • An affinity for learning online software systems
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities
  • Adaptable to workload fluctuations and intensive deadlines
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Problem analysis and problemsolving
  • Ability to read and interpret statistical data, information and documents
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to interact with staff members and others encountered in the course of work
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
An HSE Professional (AUS) must meet the following requirements:

  • A current Advanced Diploma certificate in Work Health and Safety
  • Excellent knowledge of Australian WHS Standards and Legislation
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in the safety profession (e.g. working within a safety department, or working as a safety consultant, or working for an Assessment Body carrying out WHS assessments)
  • Safety and Health Program development and/or revision is a plus
  • Working knowledge of the relevant industries we serve is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Management Certification (ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001) is a plus
  • Bilingual proficiency and knowledge of other countries H&S legislation and practices a plus.

METRICS THAT MATTER:

  • HSE Professional will conduct all audits in a quality focused manner in accordance with Avetta Operating Procedure
  • Ensure required quantity of audits are carried out, meeting monthly targets set
  • Ensure SLA targets are met
  • Manual Audits 10 Business Days from Assignment to submit; Review Open Requirements on Audits within 3 business days
  • Vetify/Rush Audits 2 business days to submit; 1 business day for Open Requirements
  • Ensure 24 hour response time to Supplier's audit queries (to be logged in the SalesForce case).
