Do work that makes a difference
This back-office position within the Payments Settlements Department plays an important role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day settlement of all electronic high-value transactions on behalf of the Bank and its clients, including settlement related to foreign exchange and securities dealings

You will also:

  • Ensure that transactions are properly authorised and that reconciliations of various accounts and securities holdings are completed in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the industry contingency tests and internal business continuity tests, and undertake requested contingency payments, as required.
  • Provide assistance as necessary to ensure that system or process changes affecting highvalue settlements are tested and implemented correctly.
  • Monitor existing settlement processes and make recommendations on new or more efficient processing methods.
  • Requirement to perform work on a rotational shift basis.

Your background
- *To be successful in this critical role you will possess;

  • Knowledge of high value payments and settlements practices in both foreign exchange and/or debt market securities.
  • Experience in a critical day to day operational environment involving tight deadlines.
  • Experience in settlement, treasury management or banking systems and functions.
  • Experience with Austraclear, RITS and SWIFT
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information is essential.

Your team

Settlements section is one of the core functions of the Payments Settlements Department and is responsible for settling the Bank's own market transactions and high value transactions for the Bank's overseas clients and government agency customers.

The section works closely with the Bank's Banking Department, Financial Markets Group and representative offices in London and New York.

This is an exciting time to be joining the Settlements team as we are at the heart of the various Bank projects required to support the move to ISO 20022 message standards.
