Your new role


The role of Leading Hand is responsible for supporting the Warehouse Coaches to execute daily warehouse activities relevant to their process areas.


  • Proactively promote, monitor and improve safety within all areas of the distribution centre
  • Promote and demonstrate behaviour in line with company Values in Action
  • Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork and Sustainability.
  • Drive continuous improvement and quality expectations.
  • Work to initiate and conduct Process Improvement Dialogues
  • Facilitate Safety Improvement Dialogues
  • Evaluate waste or imbalance and adjust workflows accordingly, including delegation and scheduling of work tasks
  • With the support of the Coach, collect data and update metric boards, monitoring People, Quality, Velocity & Cost performance, providing the Warehouse Coach/s with regular updates
  • Train and develop employees on all processes, safe job procedures and standard work
  • Promote strong collaboration and partnerships within all process areas
  • Work closely with your Warehouse Coach to identify skills gaps and develop your own Individual Learning Plan

The skills you need

  • Strong commitment and focus on Safety & Quality.
  • Strong Systems based Knowledge of SAP
  • Passionate about leading, motivating, engaging and mentoring people
  • Excellent communication skills, including active listening skills with the ability to liaise effectively with warehouse employees and QDC Leaders
  • Willing to take initiative, act decisively and proactively to remedy situations
  • Strong understanding of Stock Record Accuracy practices, CPS and Continuous Improvement
  • Previous experience leading a team will be highly regarded
  • Minimum LF (High Reach) experience essential / LO preferred.
