Country Road Group - Assistant Accountant - VIC

Your role as Assistant Accountant at The Country Road Group will involve providing crucial support to the daily financial operations, cash management, and tender reconciliation. Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you will be in charge of various financial tasks such as preparing accounting entries, balance sheet reconciliations, annual and half-yearly reports, and end-of-month and end-of-year documents. Strong communication skills are key to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and offer assistance on projects and program enhancements in a fast-paced retail setting.

This position is based at our head office in Burnley with hybrid/flexible work options.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Compiling month-end accounting entries and accruals
  • Aiding in completing the month-end financial close process for Country Road Group
  • Assisting in preparing the annual statutory accounts for Country Road Group
  • Ensuring adherence to the parent company's accounting policies and International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Identifying and implementing process enhancements
  • Providing Ad Hoc project support

Key Skills:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business, or similar field
  • Proficiency in Oracle; familiarity with Futura/Magenta POS is beneficial
  • Effective stakeholder management and strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and penchant for improving processes
  • Prior experience in retail or related industries is highly advantageous
  • Team player who enjoys collaborative work
