How will I help?


We're looking for an Executive Manager, Agribusiness to join our dynamic team at Business Lending, Private Wealth, and Business Customer Engagement Risk.


In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in upholding the credit quality and control environment that supports our business credit decisions and processes.

You'll manage the Commercial Agribusiness credit decisioning team, set and manage credit risk appetite, and oversee the monitoring of controls and credit portfolio.

Your strategic input will be crucial in developing and implementing credit operating strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with our Consumer and Business Banking Division's objectives.

As the Executive Manager, Agribusiness, you'll be directly responsible for all Agribusiness lending for our relationship-managed pre-farm gate customers.

You'll ensure consistency across Westpac, St George, Bank SA, and Bank of Melbourne regarding risk appetite, credit process, and decisioning.

You'll also champion risk reward, credit education, employee engagement, customer advocacy, and operational risk effectiveness.


You'll work collaboratively with the Head of Risk, Business Lending and other Divisional leadership teams on credit policy and portfolio management.

Your major accountabilities will include leading credit decisioning and credit risk leadership as one of the senior credit decisioners in Business Credit.

You'll use your delegated credit authority to approve transactions and guide credit strategy in key growth sectors. You'll oversee the Agribusiness credit decisioning team, ensuring sound credit decisions based on appropriate research and analysis.

What do I need?


You'll be a seasoned credit decisioner with over 10 years of experience in agribusiness, coupled with 15+ years in a leadership position in financial services or a similar corporate environment.

Experience in risk management, dealing with and presenting to General Managers and executive teams, and knowledge of wealth and banking products and services will be essential.

To excel in this role, you'll need strong business acumen, strategic thinking, leadership, and people management skills. You should have strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, along with superior presentation and communication skills.
